Living with dementia |

On Thursday 21 May partner agencies in Bedfordshire, together with Alzheimer’s Society, are hosting a Walking Football Festival to raise awareness of the support available for those living with dementia. The Herbert Protocol helps when someone living with dementia goes missing, by giving immediate access to vital information so the response can be timely and effective from the outset. In such cases timeliness is key, which not only saves time and effort but most importantly increases the opportunity to quickly and safely locate the individual. You can find out more and fill out a form for a friend or loved one on our website: People with dementia at risk of going missing (Herbert Protocol) The Walking Football event is being held at Dunstable Leisure Centre, Court Drive, Dunstable, LU5 4JD between 9.30am-1pm. This relaxed session is all about keeping active, connecting with others and enjoying sport in a supportive environment. No prior experience is needed, it is all about going at your own pace. For more information please contact David Lynch at Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue on david.lynch@bedsfire.gov.uk or 07748 140576. Visit our website for advice for carers of people with dementia at risk of going missing.
