#TogetherForBedfordshire | It’s all been a bit grey and grim, but, come rain or shine, policing in our communities goes on as we keep on working to catch the criminals and keep you safe.
A great result this week for our @BedsRuralCrimeActionTeam (RCAT) team – and for the owner of a stolen Land Rover Discovery - as the vehicle was discovered hidden deep in mud and water, along with a stolen van.
There’s advice on fighting vehicle crime, especially for keyless vehicles, on our website: https://www.beds.police.uk/cp/crime-prevention/keeping-vehicles-safe/preventing-car-vehicle-theft/
Our @bedfordcommunitypolicingteam and @NorthBedsPoliceRural teams have been made aware of more incidents of attempted courier fraud in the area. That’s where members of the public get phone calls from people impersonating police officers to try and obtain money or giftcards.
Please be aware: WE WILL NEVER ASK YOU TO WITHDRAW MONEY, BUY GIFT CARDS OR ASK FOR YOUR BANK DETAILS. If in doubt hang up and contact the police or the Report Fraud team: https://www.reportfraud.police.uk/ who also have plenty of advice on their website.
There’s no doubting the dangers the drugs trade poses within our communities. Officers from the @LutonCommunityPolicingTeam have discovered and dismantled not one, but THREE cannabis factories in the town this week. Hundreds of plants have been removed for destruction.
Meanwhile officers from our @dunstableandhoughtonregispolicing team executed a search at an address in Houghton Regis as part of their work keeping neighbourhoods safe.
And finally, for various reasons, on some occasions an officer might not have a vehicle available…but for the @leightonbuzzardpolicing team a promise is a promise…so when there’s no other way to get to a meeting in one of our slightly more distant villages, it’s time to #hoponthebus !
Don’t forget you can report anonymously at Crimestoppers on 0800 555111 and information we receive from the community really helps the way we deploy resources and tackle crime.
You can also report directly to us here: https://www.beds.police.uk/ro/report or call 101.
