Dear resident,
I have launched a public consultation to develop my new Police and Crime Plan to create a safer and fairer Bedfordshire. As a Bedfordshire resident, I am inviting you to have your say on the objectives of the Police and Crime Commissioner via an online survey. The survey closes tomorrow, Friday 23 August 2024.
I am committed to working alongside Bedfordshire Police and all its partners within the criminal justice system to show a zero tolerance of crime and provide a safer and fairer Bedfordshire.
This includes improving policing, reforming a broken criminal justice system, protecting victims, and addressing the social and economic causes of crime in Bedfordshire.
The consultation document sets out my proposed objectives for the next four years and I am keen to understand if you feel these are appropriate.
As PCC, I am adopting a mission-driven approach to ensuring that this police and crime plan is focused on the outcomes that the residents of Bedfordshire want and deserve.
My missions are set out in the consultation paper and below. They reflect what residents, local businesses, police officers and staff and stakeholders across the county are telling me. Missions: I have listed my objectives for the first year as short-term goals, I’ll then consult with you after this on the longer-term commitments that span over the following three years. You can read the full list of the core objectives here: https://www.bedfordshire.pcc.police.uk/police-crime-plan/ Link to survey: https://forms.office.com/e/y1jFCJthRP The survey will be open until 23 August 2024. If you wish to contact my office directly, please email: pccplanconsultation@beds.police.uk
I very much look forward to hearing the views and ideas over the next few weeks before I finalise a Police and Crime Plan that will make our county safer and fairer.
Best wishes
John Tizard Police and Crime Commissioner for Bedfordshire | ||||
